What is the Kickstarter Program?
The Kickstarter Program is a focused, 1:1 dog training program designed to give you and your dog a solid foundation. Whether you're dealing with pulling on the lead, jumping on guests, ignoring your cues, or just wanting to build a stronger connection, this program gives you the tools and the support to make real progress.
Sessions are held at Zuccoli Primary School, a purpose-suited environment that helps dogs focus and learn without the distractions of home. You'll leave each session with clear, practical steps to keep working on between lessons.

WhatsApp Support
Direct access to Kristy via WhatsApp throughout the program. Got a question between sessions? Stuck on something? You're not on your own.
Tug Toy Included
A quality tug toy is included in your program. It's a practical training tool we'll use during sessions to build engagement and reward good behaviour.
Access to Group Classes
Once you've completed the Kickstarter Program, you'll have access to Mind Your Paws group classes. A great way to keep building on what you've learned.
Structured Progression
Each session builds on the last. You'll always know what you're working on and why. Progress isn't random here.
Dedicated Training Space
Sessions at Zuccoli Primary School give your dog a consistent, distraction-managed environment to learn and build confidence.
Please note: Any training equipment or additional tools recommended during the program are at additional cost and are not included in the program price. Kristy will always discuss this with you before any recommendations are made.

Complete the Booking Form
Once you're ready to go ahead, you'll fill in a short form so Kristy can prepare for your first session with your dog in mind.
Start Your Training Journey
Your four sessions are scheduled and you get started. Each session builds on the last, with clear homework and WhatsApp support in between.
Graduate to Group Classes
After completing the program, you'll have access to Mind Your Paws group classes to keep building on your progress.

Kristy Teunissen
Kristy's love for dogs started in 2008 when she met Ralph, a puppy she simply couldn't walk past in a pet store window. That one moment set everything in motion.
In 2010, she completed The Alpha Canine Group's intensive 10-month professional training course in Victoria, where she trained and handled over 500 dogs across all breeds, ages, and behaviours. That same year, she became a certified Therapy Dog Handler through the Lead The Way program, going on to work with schools, nursing homes, and hospitals alongside Ralph.
Mind Your Paws launched in 2011. After relocating to Darwin in 2012, Kristy has been helping local dog owners build real, lasting skills with their dogs ever since. She works alongside her three certified therapy dogs, Harlow, Scout, and Chip.
Questions & Answers
$999 + GST for the full Kickstarter Program. This covers all four 1:1 sessions, WhatsApp support throughout, a tug toy, and access to group classes after you've completed the program. Full payment is required to secure your spot. Payment plans are not available at this stage.
All private sessions are held at Zuccoli Primary School in Darwin, NT. It's a great space for dogs to focus and learn without the distractions of home. The location is consistent across all four sessions.
The Kickstarter Program is open to all breeds and all ages. Whether you have a young pup, an adolescent dog going through a tricky phase, or an older dog with some habits you'd like to change, the program is tailored to your dog specifically.
Just your dog, a lead, and some high-value treats your dog loves. Kristy will guide you on anything else you might need before your first session. Any additional training equipment will be discussed with you first and is at extra cost.
Life happens. If you need to reschedule, just let Kristy know via WhatsApp as early as possible and she'll do her best to find a time that works for you.
There is no refund or guarantee policy on the Kickstarter Program. Results depend on the commitment and consistency of both the owner and the dog between sessions. Kristy is fully invested in your success and will support you every step of the way.
Once you've completed the four sessions, you'll have access to Mind Your Paws group classes. This is a great way to keep practising in a social environment and continue building on what you've learned.
